- DON’T LOSE HOPE
Quote: “Hope in things, and you can lose Hope. – Ann Voskamp
Some Thoughts: When we hope in dreams, in jobs, in bank accounts, in doctors, in people – even family and friends – in any thing, we can lose hope. Those things can disappear, taking our hope with them. We were never meant to put our hope in the things of this world; we are meant to lose hope in the things of this world. We are meant to put our hope in God. Our hope placed in God will never disappear, because He is with us always…
Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV – “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
There are so many promises in the Bible! Not only promises that He is with us and that we need not fear, but promises that He has not abandoned us and that He is returning. His promises have been proven true in our lives, over and over again! Our faith gives us assurance of our hope that what He has said, He will do…
Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Romans 5:1 – “Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
The first week of Advent is themed “Hope”. The first candle is also called the “Prophet Candle”. We know from studying the Bible that nearly every prophecy has been fulfilled. We wait – with Hope.
Psalm 39:7 – “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.”
Peter 3;15 NLT – “You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain
Prayer: “May the God of hope FILL you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may ABOUND in hope.” (Romans 15:13 ESV)
