Jehovah-Rapha
This name means “Healer, the Lord who heals you.” Many of us have prayed for healing and deliverance from disease, brokenness, painful circumstances, habits, addictions, grief…This name reminds us that God knows our every need. He promises to redeem every broken place in our lives. We aren’t left to fend for ourselves. Sometimes the healing doesn’t come in the timetable or way that we would choose, and that can be hard. But listen carefully. God tells us Himself that He is “Healer”.
Scripture:
Hosea 11:3 ~ “It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them.” The word “Rapa” (healed) also means: to prosper, restore, favor, comfort, impart wholeness, care for.” What a beautiful picture of Jehovah-Rapha, the One who cares and heals!
Exodus 15:26 ~ “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”
Jehovah-Shalom/Yahweh Shalom
“Lord of Peace.” God is the only One able to give us the peace that passes all of our own understanding. Gideon knew this well from a time that he and his people were surrounded by a fierce enemy. There was nothing “peaceful” about that situation! Yet, God showed up on their behalf and brought deliverance. Gideon built an altar to the Lord and called it “The Lord is Peace.” In times of greatest darkness, he had seen how true this was.
The peace of God often doesn’t make sense in this world that tells us to hurry and worry. In the midst of the struggles, God reminds us that He is our true peace and we don’t need to fear whatever we face.

Philippians 4:7-9 ~ “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you”.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being the Lord Who Heals. Reveal where I need healing and lead me to the next step in Your ultimate healing plan. Show me how I can join You in bringing healing to the world, even in my local community of Oakridge.
As “Lord of Peace,” thank You for providing an antidote for the stress and anxiety I feel. You are teaching me how to focus my mind on You and find only the peace You can give. Thank You for holding me in Your peace even when I’m surrounded by chaos that doesn’t make sense.
You are my Shepherd. You lead me. You provide for me. You are ever watchful if I begin to wander away from the path You know is best. Even in the midst of chaos and my enemies, You set a table for me – a table in Your presence. Your goodness and kindness and mercy and love follow me where ever I go. Lead me today, Lord, where You want me to go. Lead me to opportunities to present WHO YOU ARE to others.

such great encouragement to start the day. I can see reminders from the last couple of sunday school books/topics we’ve covered over the last 3-4 months or more woven in here. He is good and does provide and heal if we only keep turning to Him, sitting at His table, not giving up seat to satan, staying in His presence, each day, each step. So wonderful. Blessings to you
