King of Kings/Lord of Lords
These two names together mean supreme majesty and absolute supreme authority. This is the superlative form of description!
Scripture:
Revelation 19:16 CSB ~ “On His robe and on His thigh, He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.”
I Timothy 6:15 NIV ~ “God will bring this about in His own time. He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords,”
Revelation 17:14 NIV ~ “They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with Him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Ephesians 1:21-23 NTFE ~ “above all rule and authority and power and lordship, and above every name that is invoked, both in the present age and also in the age to come. Yes: God has “put all things under his feet,” and has given him to the church as the head over all. The church is His body; it is the fullness of the One who fills all in all.”
Light of the World
In the Old Testament, God went ahead of His people as a pillar of fire to provide light in the darkness. (Exodus 13:21) In the New Testament, Jesus called Himself the Light of the World.
Scripture:
Psalm 27:1 ~ “The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”
I John 8:12 ~ When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
I John 1:6 ~” If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.”
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that there is no darkness in You. You came into the world to “shut off the dark.” Please light the way before us and teach us how to be light to those in our circles of influence.
You have supreme authority and control and supreme majesty! I worship You as King of kings and Lord of lords. I have nothing to fear, nothing that in You rests all authority, power, and control.
