“The God of Many Names!”
(I made that one up) But, truly, there are so many, many names – especially in Psalms!
Recently, I read Psalms 95-107 over and over again to focus on thanksgiving. As I was reading, I began writing all the different names of God I found in just these thirteen psalms!
Psalm 95:1 ~ Lord, Rock of our Salvation
Psalm 95:3 ~ God (Yahweh), Great God, King God
Psalm 95:5-6 (TPT) ~ Owner of every Ocean, Engineer and Sculptor of the Earth, Creator-God, Maker of Heavens and Earth
Psalm 96:13 ~ Judge with Righteousness and Faithfulness
Psalm 97:9 ~ Majestic King, Most High
Psalm 98:6 ~ King Yahweh
Psalm 99:4 ~ Mighty King
Psalm 99:8 ~ Great Forgiver
Psalm 99:9 ~ Holy God
Psalm 100:5 ~ Good, Faithful, Loving God
Psalm 102:24 ~ Father of Eternity
Psalm 103 ~ Healer, Redeemer, Compassionate, Gracious, Slow to anger, Abounding in faithful love, Kind, Tenderhearted, Understanding, Patient, Merciful
(Wow! Psalm 103 is the “jackpot”!)
Psalm 105 ~ Covenant-Maker, Covenant-Keeper
Psalm 107 ~ Deliverer, Rescuer
I’m sure there are more I missed! We can turn these names into our praise and thanksgiving to Him – not just about Him. Then be still and listen to His response to your praise.
Prayer:
Lord, You are my Rock. You are a Great God, the Owner of Heaven and Earth. You are Majestic and Mighty King, yet You care about all that concerns me. You are compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, kind, tenderhearted, understanding, patient, and merciful – beyond measure! You keep every promise You’ve made. You deliver and rescue me, for Your name’s sake. I praise You for Who You Are!
Pray that prayer with me. What do You hear Him saying back to you?

Oh how wonderful to read and pray this. You are my Great Forgiver, Redeemer and Rescuer. So many names, no wonder we live lives of so much complexity, blessings and that we can never thirst, He gives us so much, if only we stay in the well or not wander too far. Thank you Jesus and Pastor. smiles all around
Yes! Our responsibility is staying where the Living Water continually quenches our thirst and revives and renews.
Thank you for 20, soon to be 21 days of prayer. Today I read Jeremiah 9:24 But the one who boasts should boast in this: that he understands and knows me – that I am the Lord, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things. This is the Lord’s declaration.
It made me 😃 smile
Thank you for sharing that! It says it right there- that God DELIGHTS in showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness.
