Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
Here are four more names found in Isaiah 9:6.
Scripture:
Isaiah 9:6 ~ “For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder and His name shall be called ‘Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’”
Isn’t that one of the most beautiful Scriptures ever! Written hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth – He had already been named!
Another beautiful Scripture passage is written by John.
John 1:1 ~ “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 ~ “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The list of names is inexhaustible! I would encourage you in your private time with the Lord to call Him by name. Who is He on any particular day or season of your life? My friend Debbi Perkins has taught to think of a name(s) beginning with each letter of the alphabet for each day of the month. For example, Aug. 23 = W (Waymaker, Watchful, the Way, the WORD from the very beginning, Wonderful in all your works. Wonderful Counselor…). Pray the name the Holy Spirit has given you, thanking Him for being Who He Is in your life. Wait…listen for how He speaks back to you. (Or sings over you: Zephaniah 3:17 ~ “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing”)
