Some more Jehovah/Yahweh names:
Jehovah-Tsidkenu
“Our righteousness.”
Jeremiah 23:6 ~ “In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’”
Jehovah-Mekoddishkem
The Lord sanctifies you. It is through Jesus and His death and resurrection that makes it possible for us to be seen as cleansed, pure, and holy.
Scripture:
Leviticus 20:7-8 ~ “Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.”
John 17:17-19 ~ “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.”
Hebrews 10:10-14 ~ “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this Priest (Jesus) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time He waits for His enemies to be made His footstool. For by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy”
Jehovah-Le’Faneicha
I have no idea how to pronounce this, but I love the English translation! This name means “The Lord Before You.” In Exodus 33:17, Moses describes how he would meet with the Lord face-to-face, “Just as a man speaks with his friend.” Moses asked God NOT to ask him to lead the people if God’s presence wasn’t’ with them. God said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim the name ‘The Lord Before You’.” We know that at all stages of their journey, God went as a cloud by day, before them, and a pillar of fire by night, before them. (Exodus 40)
Scripture:
Deuteronomy 31:8 ~ “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
What confidence it gives that God goes before us! It isn’t a visible cloud or pillar of fire, but He goes before, preparing the path, fighting unseen battles, and stepping into tomorrow before we get there. We do not need to live in fear or discouragement. (Repeat to self)
Prayer:
Oh God, Who Sanctifies, You are the source of sanctification—cleansing, purifying, and transforming my heart to look more like You. There is nothing in my ability to rid myself of sin or to clean myself up. Thank You for being the One who sanctifies me through Jesus.
Thank You for going before me, leading me on the right path, clearing the obstacles. When You call me to follow and I obey, I can trust that You will make a clear path.
